                                                                     Odysseus and the Odyssey

In the story the Odyssey there was a lot of character traits going on with Odysseus. Some character traits he valued were courage, compassion and intelligence. All of these things listed Odysseus didn’t know about his self. He took a long journey away from his family lost and somewhat confused.

Odysseus was a person with courage. H displayed courage by fighting the Cyclops. He also went to hell alone because he didn’t want anybody else to die. Another thing that he did was fight in the Trojan war. He took charge of what he needed to do and did it well.

Another character trait I seen in Odysseus was that he was very compassionate. Odysseus felt sad about the loss of his crew. He made his wife promise to marry again if he didn’t return. He also wanted to make sure that his wife stilled felt the same about him. Those were some examples that showed him having courage.

Odysseus was very intelligent with the things that he did. He built a ship to leave from Calypso’s island. Odysseus learned the hard way that great ones have patience and to never give up. With the intelligence he gained he knew not to rush in to see Penelope without knowing for sure that she still loved him. Those were some examples that demonstrated his intelligence.

Odysseus was very smart but didn’t know how to use it to the best of his ability. He learned that he couldn’t do nor be anything without the gods helps. He had more traits than the ones listed above. He was faithful, cunning and even arrogant.

Dress Code

     I personally do not like the dress code at all. The first reason to me not liking the dress code is because I honestly do not like to be wear khaki pants just about every day. My second reason to me not liking the dress code is that I do not see what's the point of  having the students wear the dress code. My third reason is not being to express my self and being the person i am.
   
     I said that I did not like to wear khaki pants everyday because  some days I do not even feel like getting fully dress. I do not like coming to school and see everybody wear the same colored pants. I feel like we are all plain and can not get out self's across to people with the clothes that we have on.Those were some reasons to why I  don't see why we need to wear the school dress code 
   
    With my second reason I believe that we should be allowed to wear what we please. Wearing the dress code is not changing the behaviors of the students nor improving their grades. Yes everyone might not follow the wake county public school attire but I still dont think its a reason to make us fellow students wear khaki pants and a few select color of shirts. We are dressing in formal wear as if we were going job hunting . Some people may not be able to afford to buy some khaki pants but ca only work with what they have .
   
    People not being to express their self with clothing can make a huge impact on their life. Everyone is different and has a select style so what might look good on one person may not look good on the next.  So with that being said every body may not like to wear khaki pants because its not their style or they not use to wearing that kind of clothing. Some people not being to express their self through their clothing can make them just break the school dress code because they want to make their self pop and not look like the next.

     These are a few reason why I do not  like the dress code is because I do not want for people to see me in khaki pants everyday and have them wondering why am I wearing the same thing as the day before. Another reason is because I do not see the reason to wearing the same thing each and every day because its not changing or improving our grades so how beneficial would it be to our life

A Raisin In The Sun - outline

       In the play A Raisin in the Sun there were several themes and symbols. The author felt the need for his readers to focus on the themes of racism and deferred dreams. Loraine Hansberry chose the setting of 1950 Chicago because of segregation that was going on at that time. The author used various symbols that forced her readers to think outside the box. She used a check to symbolically throughout the entire play.
      One theme in the story A Raisin In The Sun is racism. When Mr. Linder tried to bribe them not to move onto the all white neighborhood, he was representing the segregation in the community of clybourne park. Loraine Hansberry family had to fight in court just to move into the house that they wanted. When they went to the new house and all the uncolored people saw them they immediately turned their heads.  
       Another theme is deferred dreams. The author asks the question what happens to a dream deferred. Anything that you put your mind to you can do it, as long as you try and are determined to make it. You should never let anyone tell you that you can not make it and that your dreams are not reachable. If anything , them telling you that you're not going to be successful it should encourage you to prove them wrong and that you are somebody and will be somebody. 
       In the play they used a check to symbolize the family's hopes and dreams. Walter's dream was to start a liquor business with willie and Bobo. Beneatha dreams of becoming a doctor . Ruth's dream was to have the perfect family and a big house. The mama wanted her kids to realize the true meaning of life and family. Those were some of the things that revolved around the check in the play .
      When I hear the word racism it makes me think of people from different nationality that don't like each other due to the color of their skin. A deferred dream is to put your dreams on hold . The author wanted to get across to her readers that you should always keep you ambition and strive to do your best. When they lost almost all the money from the check that's when they realized that life was not always revolved around money and that as long as they have each other they don't need money to bring them together 

The Devil And Tom Walker - Character Analysis

                               The Devil And Tom Walker                                                                                                                                                                                                                    In the Story The Devil And Tom Walker I can infer that Tom was very secretive towards his wife. The author directly told his readers by saying that "He was not prone to let his wife into his confidence; but as this was an uneasy secret, he willingly shared it with her. Another thing that i can infer about the book" The Devil" And Tom Walker is that there was a character who they proclaimed to be the "devil". The author indirectly was telling his readers that he tried to make deals to capture peoples souls. Their was a character who was toms wife and she wasnt very nice . I know this because the author directly told his reader that she was tall, mean, loud, strong and talked a lot

Those were a few things that i could infer from reading the book The Devil And Tom Walker. In the book there was a lot of things being indirectly told upon to his readers.I feel like most of the characters in this story was some what sneaky .The three main characters were Tom, his wife, and a man in the woods. I think that Tom was a good man but was not happy with the relationship between him and his wife. I also feel that Tom's wife was a very secretive because she kept things from her husband.

Some themes that are in the story is that Tom and his wife lived near Boston. I know this because the author said " A few miles from Boston, in Massachusetts. Another theme that i can infer about the story was some swamp . In the story the author was telling about when Tom had went walking into the swamp and there he fount a skull head. Those were some key themes that really stuck out to me in the book The Devil And Tom Walker.
